Over the Easter holiday Year 1 took part in “Math’s is Everywhere” home learning. The purpose of the home learning was to show pupils how we use math’s in our day to day lives. As part of our “Superhero” topic the children baked their own Superhero cakes or biscuits. At home they have discussed money when shopping for ingredients, time, temperature and measurements. Here are what some of the children said about their learning:
“I enjoyed making my Spiderman fairy cakes with Daddy”.
“I liked shopping with Mum for my Spider girl cupcakes”.
“My cakes were really yummy”.
“I liked shopping for my ingredients”. “We made a big mess, it was fun”.
