Year 5 at Newburgh Primary School experienced real-life mathematics when they worked with an architect for the day. They used their knowledge of 3-D shapes and structures to design and build space craft using only wooden sticks and elastic bands. The children learned how skills in mathematics were important for understanding the concept of design.
