Happy and Healthy

GET SET

Get Set is the British Olympic Association and British Paralympic Association’s youth engagement programme. It was originally created as the official London 2012 education programme, to deliver against Lord Coe’s vision to use the Games to inspire a generation of young people.

The programme aims to:

  • inspire young people to fulfil their potential and maintain healthy, active lifestyles
  • give all young people the chance to learn about and live the Olympic Values of friendship, excellence and respect and the Paralympic Values of inspiration, determination, courage and equality
  • build excitement about Team GB and ParalympicsGB, using the Olympic and Paralympic Games as a hook for learning and participation.

ABOUT MAKING ME HAPPY

Looking after your mind is just as important as keeping active and fit. Use these Making me Happy resources to support pupils’ mental as well as physical wellbeing.

Use the Making Me Happy presentation (KS1/KS2) to explore the emotion of 'happiness' and how pupils can make others around them happy too. Includes links to Japanese culture, Olympic and Paralympic athletes, and a personal action plan to develop understanding about what makes us happy.

Extend learning using the Active Challenges. Each challenge focuses on a different topic including: being kind to others, connecting with older people and bringing nature indoors when you’re not able to go outside.

Pupils will: explore the concept of happiness and find ways to make themselves and others happy. Focus: PE, PSHE, Health & Wellbeing. These resources are part of the Travel to Tokyo campaign.
