Welcome from the Headteacher
On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors, I am proud to welcome you to Newburgh Primary School.
At Newburgh, our commitment is to create a caring and supportive school where every child matters. We work hard to develop an atmosphere where children are healthy, happy, safe and secure and where all are valued and respected.
Judged by OFSTED, in January 2019, to be a ‘Good’ school, we have a dedicated team of talented and caring staff whose aim is to ensure progress for all of our children, enabling them to be and to achieve the very best they possibly can. We believe in ensuring that children receive a well-rounded curriculum: including music, drama and sport teaching where individual talents can be spotted and nurtured. Newburgh also has well-resourced outdoor learning facilities, which enable us to embed skills across the curriculum and deliver the Forest Schools Programme. We are able to offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities and enrich our curriculum through a wide variety of spiritual, cultural and social experiences.
We are keen to develop successful relationships with parents, the local community and other schools in our local area. We firmly believe that education is a partnership between home and school and regard you as an active partner in your child's education and value your interest and support.
Mrs Janice Simpkins, Headteacher
