All Year 6 pupils are invited to have breakfast at school on Tuesday, Wednesday ,Thursday and Friday during SATs week. The children should arrive at 8.15am every morning to enjoy breakfast with us, which we will provide free of charge. Please inform us of any special dietary requirements. We have found in the past that the children are more settled for the tests if they have arrived early and had breakfast with us and have had an opportunity to discuss last minute concerns and settle any nerves.

Please help your child by encouraging them to do a sensible amount of last-minute revision but also to find time to exercise, relax and to get plenty of sleep up to and during the week. The test week can be very tiring for the children so please ensure that they are able to get enough sleep during the week, please try to avoid very late nights as the children then find it hard to concentrate in the mornings.

In past years, in the unlikely event that children are mildly unwell, we would encourage them to come in to school to complete the tests and they may leave afterwards if necessary. Please inform us quickly if your child has COVID and do not attend. Keep your child away from any social media and communication with other Y6 pupils so that missed tests can be taken on their return.

The tests will start promptly at 9am each day.

We have posted a PowerPoint presentation on the school website on the Y6 page giving more detail of what is involved in each test. Please feel free to contact us should you have any questions or concerns

Yours sincerely,

Mrs J Simpkins
