Since qualifying as a teacher in 2000, I have worked in a number of schools as a teacher and senior leader, developing a breadth of knowledge and skills to support children in all areas of the curriculum. I am passionate about getting the right support at the right time for the children, as well as growing a lifelong love for learning with them and their families.
I have been Deputy Head and SENDCo at Newburgh since September 2024 and feel very fortunate to be part of such a nurturing and aspirational team.
In my spare time, I have two teenagers, two crazy dogs and a very patient husband that keep me grounded! I love to read, spend time in the garden and enjoy time together as a family.
I look forward to working with you and your family over the coming years.

We understand that the transition to school can be an emotional time for children and their families, especially when facing additional personal or practical challenges. Our Pastoral Team are here to support and work with families and endeavour to build strong, trusting relationships, in the best interests of the child.

Ahead of starting school, children and their families will have several transition sessions where they meet their teacher and support staff for Reception. Our Pastoral Team will be a visible presence during these sessions as part of oour commitment to working in partnership with families.

Early concerns may be around readiness to start school and we are here to support with those worries. We can offer clear and practical guidance, as well as signposting to appropriate support resources and services. Toileting, managing feelings and following instructions are common areas where children need support before starting school - please do reach out to us if you are experiencing those concerns.
As your child settles into school and routines become embedded, you may have new concerns that you feel you need support with. Please speak to the class teacher in the first instance, the class teacher will then pass your concern to us if we are best placed to support you.

If your concern is regarding external support or advice, please reach out to the pastoral team, using the email address pastoral2325@welearn365.com and we will endeavour to signpost you to the best place for advice and support.
